Add one more 0 to your absmax or maxbytes line. The number you are trying to
graph is larger than 1,000,000,000.

Here's a sampling of the snmpwalk info:
snmpwalk 10.10.10.10 Snmpstring .1.3.6.1.2.1.5.8
icmp.icmpInEchos.0 = Counter32: 2061322959
snmpwalk 10.10.10.10 Snmpstring .1.3.6.1.2.1.5.8
icmp.icmpInEchos.0 = Counter32: 2061327169
snmpwalk 10.10.10.10 Snmpstring .1.3.6.1.2.1.5.8
icmp.icmpInEchos.0 = Counter32: 2061332438
snmpwalk 10.10.10.10 Snmpstring .1.3.6.1.2.1.5.8
icmp.icmpInEchos.0 = Counter32: 2061335787
snmpwalk 10.10.10.10 Snmpstring .1.3.6.1.2.1.5.8
icmp.icmpInEchos.0 = Counter32: 2061341047
These samplings were actually taken by just hitting the up-arrow immediately
after each result, a good indication of how many hits this router is taken.
And folks are wondering why we are averaging about 75% CPU utilization on
this guy :)
Once again, many thanks for all assistance.

Is the OID a counter? Have you tried doing manual
snmpgets to the device? If so, what are the results?
Could it be that MaxBytes is too low?

I've actually tried removing gauge and my graphs go to zero. Believe it or
not, this router is getting hit by more than 100 pings per second. Yep,
that's per second. Long story short, thousands of customers were configured
to ping this router as a test of connectivity, a very bad thing considering
how the routers handle localized ping traffic. Graphing it is a way of
showing management how bad it is.
Thanks again.

Get rid of gauge in your options.

Subject: [mrtg] Graphing Pings to router
Hello,
I'm trying to track ICMP traffic to a Cisco 7204VXR. I have the correct
OIDs and what I thought should be a working config (shown below). These
routers are currently experiencing a ton of ICMP echos (long story and
they are valid) but the graph only shows a MAX of 1. I know I'm missing
something. Any ideas? Again, here's the config minus all the html stuff.
Thanks!
