If you do:

snmpwalk [ip address]

from a command line what happens?

If that doesn't work, try:

snmpwalk -c [community name] [ip address]

If neither of these work, most likely the community string for the system is
different than yours :) There is also the possibility that the system
doesn't even have snmp enabled.

Subject: [mrtg] Remote SNMP...

Here is a dumb newbie question. How do you use SNMP (i.e. MRTG) from a
remote system. I have MRTG running on a few systems. I want to add
another system to monitor but I am refused connection. How do I allow
access from my remote systems on my SNMP servers?

I did a quick web / mailing list search with little results.

Thanks,

Dan
