[mrtg] ifDescr Script

Hi,

This is an out of topic question.  i have an network monitoring tool (not 
necessarily MRTG) that reports the up/down of my device links.  It returns 
an IP of the device and Interface status.  Now, i want to get the 
description of that specific interface.  Is there anyone with this kind of 
script?  i am running these tool on a sun box.
