SNMPv2 support was added in MRTG 2.9 sometime in 2000.  Note that this
is the community-based SNMPv2, not the (historic) party-based SNMPv2.

The documentation on the "Target" directive in MRTG configurations
explains how to select SNMPv2 (sorry for the awkward syntax).
