Hi, I've been using mrtg for some time now on a varitety of machines
monitoring
all sorts of devices, but today I install in on our new monitoring box
and I see
a weird error from cfgmaker that I have never seen before:

mrtg at daphne mrtg $ cfgmaker localhost
--base: Get Device Info on public at localhost:
SNMP Error:
no response received
SNMPv1_Session (remote host: "localhost" [127.0.0.1].161)
                   community: "public"
                  request ID: -2147483647
                 PDU bufsize: 8000 bytes
                     timeout: 2s
                     retries: 5
                     backoff: 1)
  at /usr/bin/../lib/mrtg2/SNMP_util.pm line 570
SNMPWALK Problem for 0.3.6.1.2.1.1 on public at localhost:
  at /usr/bin/cfgmaker line 709
mrtg at daphne mrtg $

now if I run cfgmaker from my laptop and point it at the machine
mentioned above it
works fine.

Below are mrtg & cfgmaker versions and a snmpwalk of the machine to
proove everything
is fine from a snmp pov.

Has anybody seen this error before?

r.

versions & snmpwalk:

If you want to know more about this tool, you might want
to read the docs. They came together with mrtg!
