If you use MRTG with RRD to read and store your data, the Routers2.cgi
viewing utility has 'totals' as a built in feature.
Monitor the bits/Bytes per second in the usual way, and Routers can give
you daily/weekly/monthly totals.
It can limit your monitoring to 'working day' if you wish.
