Hi I am form Costa Rica and I am new with mrtg
I am using RedHat 9 and mrtg-2.9.17-13 it's simple I'am trying to
graph the trafic of my ethernet interface and after that try with other
hosts in my LAN.
I use this script for making a mrtg.conf files: *I add the line that
fluhmann at vvm.com told me*
cfgmaker --output /etc/mrtg.cfg --ifref=ip --global "WorkDir:
/var/www/html/" --global "Options[_]: growright,bits" --global
"RunAsDaemon: Yes" --global "Language: spanish" --no-down
--subdirs=HOSTNAME 10.3.1.202
After running thsi script I get this mrtg.conf file: *This is the real
one ... the last one is not mrtg.cfg* ... sorry :-)
# Created by
# /usr/bin/cfgmaker --output /etc/mrtg.cfg --ifref=ip --global 'WorkDir:
/var/www/html' --global 'Options[_]: growright,bits' --global
'RunAsDaemon: Yes' --global 'Language: spanish' --no-down
public at 10.3.1.202 --subdirs=HOSTNAME 10.3.1.202
### Global Config Options
# for UNIX
# WorkDir: /home/http/mrtg
# or for NT
# WorkDir: c:\mrtgdata
### Global Defaults
# to get bits instead of bytes and graphs growing to the right
# Options[_]: growright, bits

But when I do:
/usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg.cfg
I get a lot of this errors:
Malformed UTF-8 character (unexpected non-continuation byte 0x20,
immediately after start byte 0xd7) at
/usr/bin/../lib/mrtg2/locales_mrtg.pm line 3934.
And finally this:
Daemonizing MRTG ...
The problem is that I search in /var/www/html and the is no web page :-(
Thanks for your help and sorry for sending wrong info on my last mail
...and sorry for my bad.bad english !!! :-)
