I don't think you should use the % sign.
If AbsMax is 8000 and you want 90% of that, you should put 7200 (which is
90% of 8000) in ThreshMaxI.

Maybe I don't understand the question very well, I'm still working on my
first cup of cofee ;)

But I think it's the % sign that's giving you trouble....

Subject: [mrtg] Threshold

Hey everyone,

quick one

i want to setup thresholds to notify myself via email if an interface
reaches 90% of the absmax value
this is how i have it configured currently:

Target[router_serial0_0.100:] \Serial0/0.100:public at router::::2
SetEnv[router_serial0_0.100:] MRTG_INT_IP="10.0.0.1"
MRTG_INT_DESCR="Serial0/0.100" EMAIL="root at localhost.localdomain"
HOST="localhost" URL="http://10.6.0.160/router.html"

Directory[router_serial0_0.100:]: router
ThreshDir: /var/mrtg/router
ThreshMaxI: 380%
AbsMax[router_serial0_0.100:]: 8000
MaxBytes[router_serial0_0.100:]: 2000

When i try to run this cfg file i get the following:
ERROR: CFG Error Unkown Option "threshmaxi" on line 32 or above
		Check doc/reference.txt for Help

im using rh9 with mrtg 2.9.29

Cheers

BTW: reason i have thresmaxi at 380% is to be around 80-90% of the AbsMax
