[mrtg] Logs skewing historical data figures

Guys please help me with this. I've been using MRTG for over 7 years now
but for some reason I can't get it to work on my new FreeBSD 4.7 box.
I'm actually using NetSNMP to monitor bandwidth on the box and I've
written my own scripts to monitor CPU, all have the same problem.
After running it for a few times, my log files look like this:

1047513601 114904 22136
1047513601 40 -4629707306064412665 40 -4629707306064412665
1047513300 4294967325 -4629707306064412665 2885591997068869661 7
1047513000 4294967324 -4629707306064412672 2885591997068869661 7
1047512700 4294967320 -4629707306064412672 2885591997068869656 7
1047512400 4294967320 -4629707306064412666 2885591997068869656 6
1047512100 4294967296 -4629707306064412672 2885591997068869640 6

As you can see, the first line reads correctly but the historical
data are huge integer values. So the data is coming back from my
scripts properly it just seems rateup or mrtg is skewing the numbers.

I'm currently running the latest version of MRTG but the same thing
happens when downgrading to any prior MRTG-2 release. It also happens
when using RRD or logging normally.

I sure hope the answer isn't obvious because I've perused all the
documentation in depth. Any help would be appreciated.

Chris
