}i try to monitor a vlan interface with MRTG.
}Daniel J McDonald, CCIE 2495 help me and geive me the info below.
}In CISCO-SWITCH-ENGINE-MIB i try with the variables:
}"cseL3VlanInUnicastOctets"              "1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.97.1.4.2.1.7"
}"cseL3VlanOutUnicastOctets"             "1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.97.1.4.2.1.9"
}In my mrtg.cfg i put:
}Target[c6509_Vl2]:1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.97.1.4.2.1.7.1011#Vl2&1.3.6.1
}.4.1.9.9.97.1.4.2.1.9.1011#Vl2:public at c6509:::::2
}
}The variable 1011 is the PFC card entity
}But the results are not good because values are very low (20
}bytes maxi).
}
}any idea ?
You're only getting the first packet of each flow. Every packet
thereafter, until the flow expires, is getting hardware switched
and never makes it up to the L3 router. What you need to do is
monitor the physical ports, not the vlans. If you're on a hybrid
IOS/catos box, run cfgmaker against the catos portion of it. If
you're running native, then cfgmaker should pick up the phy
interfaces and graphing those are probably what you're after.
