OID1&OID2 + OID3&OID4 = OID1 + OID3 and OID2 + OID4

I thought it said that in the docs somewhere...

The MRTG configuration reference on the web page show how to add two
values returned from SNMP together(MRTG arithmetic, which I already
knew). But, what I can't find is how excatly this works.

Say I am adding values like so..

Target[tot-internet]:
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.66.1.1.1.1.3.21.0.106&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.66.1.1.1.1.4.21.0.106:pass at router
+
1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.66.1.1.1.1.3.17.4.32&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.66.1.1.1.1.4.17.4.32:pass at router + 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.66.1.1.1.1.3.19.4.33&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.66.1.1.1.1.4.19.4.33:pass at router + 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.66.1.1.1.1.3.15.0.155&1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.66.1.1.1.1.4.15.0.155:pass at router1

Does MRTG add the 4 values in front of the "&" together and the values
behind the "&" together and then graph the first sum as one value and
then the other sum as the other value??

Thanks for your time?
