[mrtg] Possible precedence problem on bitwise | operator

Hello and thanks for reading this post.

I am getting the following error message emailed to me very frequently by 
cron under Red Hat Linx 8.

Possible precedence problem on bitwise | operator at
/usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/../lib/mrtg2/BER.pm line 619.

Does anyone know what is causing this?  Thanks.
