I believe it will display the last value until it gets new data. We
pull the stats from our firewall using IPTables and some scripts.
IPtables will start with a counter that it keeps of number of bytes
transferred over an IPAlias. Sometimes when we publish new firewall
rules we forget to save the counter thus resettings 50gb's to 0bytes.
MRTG will keep a flatline value (i.e. last value) until it gets the next
incremented value (which would be 0 + diff).

Subject: [mrtg] If down / rebooted ...

I just installed mrtg ... and I saw some graphs :) My question is :

If my machine is rebooted or down for quite a while, will mrtg
"continue" from the last collected
data ? or reset to 0 ?

I say "Weekly" data and "Yearly" ... how long will mrtg keep the data?
after 1 year, will it be
reset to 0 again?

Thank you for your help.

Regards,
