[mrtg] Question about hatching on no data

Hello,
I hope this hasn't been answered before, as i'm not sure how to ask exactly!

I like the way mrtg does that black hatching when no data is received,
however when data is received again, the hatching disappears.
I know you can make the graph show 0 when no data is received, but it would
be nice if the hatching could be left on, even when new data is received.

is this possible?
