[mrtg] stop and restart mrtg

Dear all:

I changed some global settings in mrtg.cfg , I need the graph running from
left to right,  could anybody kindly tell me how to stop and restart mrtg
?
By the way, our MRTG is installed in unix , there are www and scripts
directories
in directory /etc/mrtg.
