Will your provider put this into your snmp-server config on the router?

ai-core(config)#snmp-server ifindex ?
  persist Persist interface indices

That'd do the trick for you if they will....

Subject: [mrtg] IFIndex and MRTG

Hello,
Everytime my service provider reboots my router my IFINDEX numbers within
the router shifts. Is there a way to monitor my router interfaces without
the use of the IFIndex. I am in a mixedenvironment where I have routers that
use IP unnumbered, and I also have interfaces that have numbered IP
interfaces. So Can it monitor routers that have both IP numbered and IP
unnumbered interfaces without the use of IFINDEX? Appeciate your assistance.
