Modify your /etc/sysconfig/i18n so that it says LANG="en_US" instead of
LANG="en_US.UTF-8" and it will work. :)

  Hi there, I have all ready ask this before so I apologyze for do it
again but we have a problem whit some HD  and some info where lost, any
way I really sorry to bother whit this one mote time.

I normaly use MRTG on a Windows server, but recently I have to migrate
to a Linux server, the install was no prob but in the moment to compile
the .cfg file this error is display

ERROR: Mrtg will most likely not work propperly when the environment
       variable LANG is set to UTF-8. Please run mrtg in an environment
       where this is not the case:
 
       env LANG=C ./mrtg ...
