Sometimes mrtg at data acquisition from the SNMP-agent informs on a
error:
SNMP Error:
no response received
SNMPv1_Session (remote host: "x.x.143.2" [x.x.143.2].161)
community: "yy"
request ID: 197766777
PDU bufsize: 8000 bytes
timeout: 2s
retries: 5
backoff: 1)
at /usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/../lib/mrtg2/SNMP_util.pm line 487
SNMPGET Problem for ifDescr.2 ifInOctets.2 ifDescr.2 ifOutOctets.2 sysUptime sysName on yy at x.x.143.2::::::v4only
at /usr/local/mrtg-2/bin/mrtg line 1829
WARNING: Could not match host:'yy at x.x.143.2' ref:'Descr' key:'FastEthernet0/1'
ERROR: Target[zz][_IN_] ' $target->[39]{$mode} ' did not eval into defined data
ERROR: Target[zz][_OUT_] ' $target->[39]{$mode} ' did not eval into defined data
At that moment there is a peak equal approximately to half "MaxBytes"
parameter. If to have
time to look at present a file yy.log in the top line will be:
1074672962 -1 -1
I.e. for any reason SNMP counters for the input and output traffic are
equal -1
OS version - FBSD 4.7, mrtg version - 2.10.13
