Hello all,
Up to now I have had 3com kit.
Worked fine with 10/100Mb interfaces, and I have used the 64 bit counters
(ifHCInOctets) for Gigabit interfaces
Now (MRTG-2-10-13 on XPpro) I have had the switches upgraded to Cisco 6513
(IOS 12.1) with fibre and copper blades.

Target[test]: ifHCinoctets.1&ifHCoutoctets.1:public at 10.1.2.3
gives "Unknown SNMP var ifHCoutoctets.1" (and inoctets)
Aha, must be case sensitive. Never realised that.

So I went to what I had used on my 3Com kit with success.
Target[test]: ifHCInOctets.1&ifHCOutOctets.1:public at 10.1.2.3
gives
Received SNMP response with error code
  error status: noSuchName
  index 1 (OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.31.1.1.1.6.1)
This I did not expect. That is the correct OID

I used GetIf, and that found some entries in the ifXTable, but not the HC
counters.
My provider swears that it works for him, on that version of Firmware
I tried a different MIB browser (that requires you to specify SNMP
version) and it worked!!

With that in mind, I went back to MRTG and tried
Target[test]: 1:public at 10.1.2.3:::::2
This variation works!

So the questions are:
1. Can I 'fix' the Cisco to respond to Getif, and the explicit version of
MRTG
2. Can I 'fix' Getif to use v2c SNMP calls.
3. Does Tobi wish to make MRTG case insensitive.
