[mrtg] cfgmaker hangs

HI, I am trying to upgrade our stats server, the old server is currently still 
getting stats with mrtg and working fine.
The new server is installed with net-snmp-5.1.1 and mrtg 2.10.14, when i run a 
cfgmaker i get the following and it sees to hang:

root at jhbitstats:/usr/local/mrtg-2/bin# ./cfgmaker 192.168.192.6
--base: Get Device Info on public at 192.168.192.6:
--base: Vendor Id: 
--base: Populating confcache

What should I be looking for?
