[mrtg] Question on using OIDs

I am a new user of MRTG. I generated a basic config file using cfgmaker.
I then modified the target to plot a particular OID. I also loaded the
vendor specific MIB using LOADMIBs:

Here is what the Target line looks like:

Target[10.0.1.180_so-0/1/22/0]:
1.3.6.1.4.1.8577.1.2.3.4.5.6.7.0\so-0/1/22/0:public at 10.0.1.180:

I get the following error:
warn: (Missing operator before $target?)

Can someone point to me what is wrong here?
I have pretty much followed the syntax given in the FAQ and the reference
manual.
This problem does not seem to have anything to do with the OID itself. (I
think)

Appreciate any pointers on this.
