[mrtg] Fedora3 & Mrtg

I had a implementation of mrtg set up well in a Debian Sarge box, and
a group from our corporate office wanted it set up the same way on
their Fedora3 box, so I scp'd it over. I'm running into problems:

SNMP Error:
no response received
SNMPv1_Session (remote host: "172.31.212.14" [172.31.212.14].49154)
<snip>
 at /usr/bin//../lib/mrtg2/SNMP_util.pm line 486

I've read the FAQ for this error, and it makes it sound like its a
network issue, however:

# snmpwalk -v1 -c public 172.31.212.14 | grep UpTime
SNMPv2-MIB::sysUpTime.0 = Timeticks: (2254995975) 260 days, 23:52:39.75

This seems to work fine, which suggests that the agent is up and I can
reach it right? I'm fairly new to snmp, so be gentle, but I'm
suprised at the problems I've had simply trying to move this from the
debian box (which installed very easily). I'm led to believe that my
problems are due in large to my inexperience with Fedora.

# uname -r
2.6.5-1.358

# perl -v
This is perl, v5.8.3 built for i386-linux-thread-multi

MRTG version: 2.10.5
I've also tried 2.10.13 with the same results.

Unfortunately I didn't install perl, or anything else, so I'm not
entirely familiar with this box. Any direction, or ideas?
