[mrtg] rddtool question

I have rddtool running

It polls about 10 servers with about 35 log files

If one of the servers goes down, the other servers graphs have massive gaps
in them.

If I comment out the lines in rddtool.cfg  from the server that is down all
the other servers graphs are good.

This never happened in MRTG

How can I stop this.
