  10,000,000 bits per second  ->   1,250,000 bytes per second
 100,000,000 bits per second  ->  12,500,000 bytes per second
1000,000,000 bits per second  -> 125,000,000 bytes per second

However, to allow for some rounding errors and timing errors I
usually add some 10 percent.
