[mrtg] Using templates to generate a config for ifInErrors and ifOutErrors

I see the following error in MRTG's log file:

2005-04-08 10:37:08 -- ERROR: Target[myrouter_gi1_1.errors][_IN_]
'ifInErrors.#Gi1/1&ifOutErrors. $target->[1]{$mode} ' (eval): syntax
error at (eval 10) line 2, at EOF

In a template used with cfgmaker I am have:

Target[$target_name]: ifInErrors.$if_ref&ifOutErrors.$if_ref:$router_connect

In the config file this produces:

Target[myrouter_Gi1_1.errors]:
ifInErrors.#Gi1/1&ifOutErrors.#Gi1/1:public at myrouter::12:2::2

I thought the "#" may be a problem but the target for the in/out octets is:

Target[myrouter_Gi1_1]: #Gi1/1:public at myrouter::12:2::2

And data is gather for this.

I assume I have something incorrect with the template. Can anyone advise
on this?

Thanks,

Jim
