Greetings
I would like to know how to poll for the ATM sub-interfaces on cisco 6509.
I have a cisco 6509 going ballistic when polling for the ATM
sub-interfaces. The device reports that it receives thousands of polls
for one pair of mib objects, though I doubt mrtg is actually sending all
these polls. This only happens for the ATM sub-interfaces, all other devices are fine.
Mrtg (cfgmaker) has flagged it as an snmp v1 interface. If I modify the
config to use snmp v2 the problem goes away.
The cfgmaker script probe for 'ifHCInOctets' fails, therefore mrtg flags
this as snmp v1. Here is a snippet;
--base: snmpget [device]::2:1::2:v4only for ifHighSpeed.86 -> 150 Mb/s
--base: snmpget [device]::2:1::2:v4only for ifHCInOctets.86 ->
--base: check for HighspeedCounters failed ... Dropping back to V1
Questions
Are there any particular cfgmaker flags to use for ATM sub-interfaces?
Does mrtg 'really" send all these snmp v1 polls on an atmsubif?
Some device details;
