[mrtg] method of stopping the update of the log file

I am using mrtg-2.12.1 now.
I want to know the method of stopping the update of the log file
when snmp query of mrtg fails.
Is there something a good method?

I had used mrtg-2.9.6 before.
At that time, the update of the log file had stopped when snmp polling failed.
