[mrtg] Community string problems

Hello All
I am trying to use cfgmaker to walk a device whose community string 
begins with a '+'. However, when it tries to walk the device it ignores 
the '+' and uses the rest of the community string to try to walk the 
device. How can I get mrtg to use the '+'?
