If by "informat" you are referring to SNMP Informant, you should start
with the free version (currently v1.4), which will allow you to graph
CPU usage.
Install it on the server you want to monitor. Then, copy the c:\program
files\snmp informant\standard\mibs\smiv1\WTCS.MIB and Informant-STD.MIB
into the Getif\Mibs directory on the server you have installed Getif
on. After that, delete the .index file from the getif\mibs directory,
and restart getif. At that time you should be able to monitor CPU usage
and other stats.
If you are not able to do so, check that Getif returns valid data for
the basic SNMP values (system description, etc.). If not, then SNMP is
not properly set up. Check that the SNMP service (on the server you
want to monitor) allows remote connections (SNMP service properties)
from remote systems.
Thank you very much!
