[mrtg] no stats appearing when using custom MIB

MRTG (v 2.11.1) installed on a RH 8 box and running at 
http://herbie.raeinternet.com:8000/index.html but I can't seem to get 
the stats to display. Using our own custom MIB, I am starting with 
'mtaReceivedMessages' & 'mppMTASpamCount' since those are always 
increasing and are integers.

In my MRTG confg file I have:
LoadMIBs: /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs/MPP-MIB.txt

Target[192.168.xx.yy]:mtaReceivedMessages&mppMTASpamCount:public at 192.168.xx.yy

And it does exist albeit as a soft link:
ls -l /usr/local/share/snmp/mibs/MPP-MIB.txt
lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           26 Jan 22 11:55
/usr/local/share/snmp/mibs/MPP-MIB.txt -> /usr/local/MPP/MPP-MIB.txt

ls -l /usr/local/MPP/MPP-MIB.txt
-rw-r--r--    1 build    build       47899 Nov 22 09:30
/usr/local/MPP/MPP-MIB.txt

SNMPGET's work just fine from the CLI, for example:
snmpget localhost mtaReceivedMessages
MPP-MIB::mtaReceivedMessages = INTEGER: 1132

snmpget localhost mppMTASpamCount
MPP-MIB::mppMTASpamCount = INTEGER: 169

No errors appear to std. out during use of the mrtg nor indexmaker 
programs.

I've tried variations in the Target line but again, to no avail.

Oh, and to my last post re: "Use of uninitialized value in pattern 
match    (m..MRTG_lib.pm line  537", in was a syntax error on my part in 
the path's of the cfg file vs. the generated index page.
