[mrtg] Bay Accelar 1200's and Descriptions

Gday,

We have a number of Bay Accelar switches on legacy equipment and want to
monitor them. The snmp all works excellent but mrtg cannot report the 
interface names as set in the Accelar.

Has anyone achieved this and would be able to pass on some config 
examples. Or even some hints. I have tried the 

 --ifdesc=descr                     ... uses Interface Description
 --ifdesc=name                      ... uses Interface Name
 --ifdesc=alias                     ... uses Interface Alias

All to no avail..
