[mrtg] Unit Scale Incorrect for Juniper rtr interfaces

I'm running mrtg-2.9.16 on windows, monitoring three interfaces on a
Juniper m7i JUNOS 6.2.

The utilization reported by mrtg is incorrect.  It some cases, it
appears to be ~1/10 the actual utilization. (i.e. show int reports
~27Mbps and mrtg reports ~2.7Mbps) In other cases, the discrepancy is
not so neat.  The numbers reported by mrtg are always significantly less
than they should be. 

Has anyone seen this / is aware of a resolution?
