[mrtg] How to deal with the data less than zero?

hello,everyone!

my config is :"\fe-0/0/1:read at 192.168.1.1:::::2 - 
\fe-1/3/1:read0 at 192.168.0.1:::::2 "

the result sometimes is less than 0,but I found mrtg dispaly a data much 
more than the actual data when the result is less than 0 ,I guessed perhaps 
because the counter beyond the mark.how to deal with it ? thanks very much!
