v4only is probably message about IPv4, because MRTG has support
for IPv6 too. But this is NOT your problem. Your host probably
has configured firewall or SNMP daemon on it doesn't run.

You can test it with snmpwalk:
"snmpwalk -v2c -c public hostname.domain.com"

This is example with SNMP version 2. One reason for using SNMP
version 2 instead version 1 are 64bit gauges or counters
for measuring highspeed interfaces (Gigabit ethernet).
