[mrtg] Missing --descint option

I recently upgraded to MRTG 2.12 from 2.7 and discovered that the
"--descint" option for cfgmaker has been removed. The consequence is
that the index pages now have graph labels like "GigabitEthernet1/1"
whereas before it was "GigabitEthernet1/fssmo-208a (OAB)".

This creates extra work for our network guys, as it now takes a long
time to locate a particular interface on the index page. (One guy even
wants me to downgrade to 2.7!)

Is there a combination of options I can use to emulate the "--descint"
parameter? My current config line for cfgmaker includes "--ifref=nr" and
"--ifdesc=descr"

I read here that "--ifref=type" should work, but it hoses cfgmaker.

Thanks,

James McGowan
