Please go through this document online.

http://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/doc/mrtg-logfile.en.html

Any how what u can do is that the value that is peaking will be greater than
any other which is the spike. With time stamp conversion u can exactly
reach the date or a month the spike happened. Try to reach it out there and
just change the value it should have exactly. That's it.

The time value 1194673518 equals to Sat, 10 Nov 2007 05:45:18 UTC

You can check this value from the following URL.

http://www.onlineconversion.com/unix_time.htm

If you notice down in the example this value

1194658500 939 30926 941 30966

is not a normal behavior of the traffic in the log.

Make change in .log file and then copy the same file to .old

Ex.:

1194660000 16 135 16 135
1194659700 19 135 66 142
1194659400 63 141 66 142
1194659100 16 136 17 137
1194658800 16 133 17 134
1194658500 939 30926 941 30966
1194658200 16 138 16 139
1194657900 16 134 26 134
1194657600 25 134 26 136
1194657300 20 136 92 144
1194657000 91 143 92 144
1194656700 72 141 76 142

Hi Mir Hafeez,

In the log file there are 5 columns, can you tell me what each of them
represents?

Thanks so much for your help.
