actually, the unit reported is centiBels, not deciBels

factor is applied after the data is stored, not before

That represents +2.0dB (gain)

Note that for negative numbers, you must use rrdtool as the backend, and
you must manually tune the rrd (I use -i ds0:-800 -i ds1:-800)
