So i create my config: cfgmaker --global 'WorkDir: /var/www/mrtg' --global 'Options[_]: bits, growright' --output /usr/local/mrtg-2/config/mrtg.cfg public at 10.2.0.1

it creates a .cfg file. make sure that the dir config exists (i had created it myself)

in /etc/cron.d/ make a file named "mrtg"
--------------
0-59/5 * * * * root env LANG=C /usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/mrtg.cfg
0-59/5 * * * * root env LANG=C /usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/device1.cfg
0-59/5 * * * * root env LANG=C /usr/bin/mrtg /etc/mrtg/device2.cfg
--------------

i think, this site can help you to install mrtg:
