Ok. Thank you, that helped. However, I have other questions/problem.

* May the in/out values be negative?
* May the in/out values be floating point? Eg. 1.34

My script emmits the following strings:

271
271
UNKNOWN
temp_collector

I run mrtg with the following command:

env LANG=C /usr/bin/mrtg --debug="base" /etc/mrtg.cfg

I get a line on stdout:

--base: Get Current values: in:271, out:271, up:UNKNOWN,
name:temp_collector, time:1230999585

I have my mrtg.cfg as follows:

Target[chacha]: `/usr/local/bin/term_collector_test -d /dev/ttyUSB0 -p0`
Maxbytes[chacha]: 1600
Title[chacha]: Temperature
PageTop[chacha]: <H1>Temperature h1 line</H1>

And finaly the problem...

The graphics are not updated. :-(
