[mrtg] log file is not same as graph

Have a look at the paragraph talking about the "gauge" option here: 
http://oss.oetiker.ch/mrtg/doc/mrtg-reference.en.html

It explains how averaging works and gauge is *not* used.  In this case it is 
the difference in the counters averaged over 5 minutes.
