[mrtg] value of the 5th column in the eth.log file

Hello,

I'm using the maximum outgoing rate value from mrtg's 
servername.ethN.log file for some scripts. Since I've switched to a Gbit 
interface (eth1 in my case) I'm now wondering about the values in my 
eth1.log.

While dstat is showing a good use of the GBit nic:

$ dstat -n

*and* MRTG in his graph output also shows a reasonable value for the 
outgoing traffic for that interface:

I don't see the correct value in the fifth column in the eth1.log file:

How does mrtg interpret the 5th column? How does it calculate the 
123,6MB/s shown in the graph out of the 8681708 bytes in the log?

MRTG version 2.16.2.

My interfaces.cfg for the specific interface:
