Sounds like you are using the --subdir=HOStNAME directive.  You need a
line like:

Directory[$target_name]: $directory_name

in your template.  $directory_name is a built-in variable constructed
from the --subdir directive.  $target_name is a local variable, so that
might be different the way you set up your templates.
