Subject: [mrtg] Monitoring Ram remote host

Hi guys,

I have the following problem when I go to do the following:

- I create the file ram.cfg:

LoadMIBs: /usr/share/snmp/mibs/HOST-RESOURCES-MIB.txt
Target [ram_nagios61]: .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.6.0 & .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.4.6.0: public @ nagios61
PAGETOP [ram_nagios61]: <H1> Free Memory </ H1>
WorkDir: / var / www / mrtg / test
Options [ram_nagios61]: nopercent, growright, gauge, noinfo
Title [ram_nagios61]: Free Memory
MaxBytes [ram_nagios61]: 1000000
KMG [ram_nagios61]: k, M, G, T, P, X
YLegend [ram_nagios61]: bytes
ShortLegend [ram_nagios61]: bytes
Legendi [ram_nagios61]: Free Memory:
Legendo [ram_nagios61]:
Legend1 [ram_nagios61]: Free memory, not including swap, in bytes

That’s not your entire config file – you reference an interface later on. That throws many of your errors.

Also, why do you have spaces between public\ @\ nagios61. shouldn’t that all be written with no spaces?

- And the system gives me the following error:

root @ nagios51: /etc/mrtg.d# LANG = C; mrtg /etc/mrtg.cfg
SNMP Error:
no response received
