I wish to announce a new statistics tool using rrdtool. It was developed
by me in the last six months as diploma thesis. The motivation was
to get a tool that can replace mrtg to overcome its limitations.

ToGather constist of a daemon "togatherd" which collects data via SNMP
(or external programs) in arbitrary intervals. Is uses rrdtool to store
the data in rrd files. Two CGI scripts create web pages and graphs on
demand.

The ToGather software should be considered as beta or even alpha. Untill
now there are only two installations at my site so I expect it to have
bugs, especially concerning installation on other sites. This is why I
announce it on rrd-developers only. One problem is that a patched
rrdtool is needed (rrdstat). I will change this in a future version.

I publish this software in the hope to get some feedback and that
interested people with too much time can try it. There are man pages and
a configuration reference but no "installation and configuration
manual".

The second part is a web-based MIB browser: It displays the objects of
several MIB modules in a explorer-like tree. A function to query a
object via SNMP is included. The MIB browser is not complete but should
be in a usable state ("beta" ;-).

Both MIBB and ToGather are tested under Debian/GNU Linux 2.1/2.2 with
perl 5.004/5.005 and Solaris 2.6 with perl 5.6.

MIBB and ToGaher are distributed as one package. you can get it from
here:

PS: Again thank you Tobi for rrdtool!
