Hi Ian,

if you want to be able to run rrdtools with a central datastore, I
would envisage, that rrdaccelerator could also talk via tcp or udp
socket, this would allow you to send the updates over the net to a
central location ...

having to write everything twice does not strike me as all that
desirable ... onw of the problems I try to fight is the number of
files that have to be touched ... so if you were going for a
filebased aproach, It would probably be better to write the updates
to a single file, which would be renamed by the accelerator daemon
as soon as it starts working on it. This would not solve the graph
problem though since updates can not be applied selectively ...
