I've done that now.. The patch at
<http://verplant.org/temp/rrdtool-trunk-rrd_update_with_cache.patch>
is updated.

Okay.. I don't have time and energy to rename the daemon right now, so
the above patch will install `RRDd' as `$prefix/bin/rrdd'. I'll rename
it in the next few days.

Agreed, would be nice. I'd focus on the other features (i. e.  making
`graph' and `fetch' and stuff cache-aware) first before doing any fancy
stuff, though. The network protocol, for example, is not very nice right
now and I'll change it when integrating that `flush' stuff.
