CPU is a bit high, but managable.  I'm grossly IO bound, even on a
hardware raid box with read/write caching built in.  We're going to keep
throwing spindles at it until we can max out the cpus.   This is all in
the data aquisition stage.

Some stats for you:
  1700 or so .rrd's
    10 datum each
     4 RRA's each
Updates are once per minute

On an E250, 1.5 gig ram, 6 drives in an A1000, this means
that I'm about 80% towards my redline of not keeping up.


I still need to get you images.. which I'll do privately.
