Hi,

I am newbie to rrdtool and already, while compiling rrdtool-1.0.25, I have
problems.
(I am using HP-UX 10.20 and Perl5.005. )
I found a similar problem (From: Frédéric Defferrard on 18 Jul 2000).
But he said that he had to compile perl again. Is there any other solution ?
Something w/o having to recompile perl? (I am just an user w/o any
permissions ... ;-)
Here are the messages I got....

make works untill it reaches 'perl-shared' ....

        cd perl-shared && make
        cc -c -I../src -I../gd1.3 -Ae -O +Onolimit
-DVERSION=\"1.000251\"  -DXS_VERSION=\"1.000251\" +z
-I/opt/perl5/lib/5.00503/PA-RISC1.1/CORE -DPERLPATCHLEVEL=5 RRDs.c
(Bundled) cc: warning 480: The -A option is available only with the C/ANSI C
product; ignored.
(Bundled) cc: warning 480: The -O option is available only with the C/ANSI C
product; ignored.
[ ... ]

Then I tried to run the make with gcc in the perl-shared directory and I got
following error:

$ make
        gcc -c -I../src -I../gd1.3 -Ae -O +Onolimit
-DVERSION=\"1.000251\"  -DXS_VERSION=\"1.000251\" +z
-I/opt/perl5/lib/5.00503/PA-RISC1.1/CORE -DPERLPATCHLEVEL=5 RRDs.c
gcc: +Onolimit: No such file or directory
gcc: +z: No such file or directory
*Initialization*:1: missing token-sequence in `#assert'
*** Error exit code 1

Could you give me some hints what I have to change or do to compile it?
Any help is surely welcomed.
TIA
Diana.
