I think this may be of general interest to RRD-Users.
http://webperf.sourceforge.net - Web Performance Monitoring
The Problem:
For webmasters, it is hard to know how long it takes to download the
HTML pages they provide from all around the world.
Our Goal:
To Provide a set of tools, and mechanisms, to monitor the performance of
web sites from various monitoring points around the
world. This would be used by medium to large web sites help them measure
performance.
How?
The idea is to get a group of monitoring stations from around the world,
and for each of them to run a tool which will report various
statistics on how long it took to download a URL. These statistics will
be available for download for participating sites to perform
analysis on. The tool can be used in a quick diagnotic mode, or to
gather statistics for a longer period.
What can I do?
You can become a monitoring station. For this project to succeed it
needs to have 100's of monitoring stations from around the
world.
Thanks
