Hello,
I've just downloaded RRDTool 1.0.9 and am attempting to install it on my
system, following the directions in the rrdtool-1.0.9/README file.
When I execute the command
configure -enable-shared
I get back the message
checking host system type... configure: error: can not
guess host type; you must specify one.
How do I figure out what the host name is supposed to be, to specify with
the --host option?
Looking at "configure" script, it seems to be calling ./config/config.guess
to guess the type of system I am running on, but I still can't see exactly
what information and in what format to supply.
Useful/possibly relevant information:
OS : Red Hat Linux release 6.0 (Hedwig), Kernel 2.2.5-15 on an i586
uname -m : i586
uname -r : 2.2.5-15
uname -s : Linux
uname -v : #1 Mon Apr 19 22:21:09 EDT 1999
system name : mybox01.ed.gov
Any assistance whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.
Greg S.
